Felton Road Wines are located in Bannockburn, Central Otago, New Zealand, the most southerly wine growing region in the World. Here, vineyards are nestled into small macroclimates totally surrounded by high mountains, many of which are snowcapped year round. The latitude of 45 degrees invites comparison to the Willamette Valley, Oregon and some of the finest wine regions of France. And, like Burgundy, Central Otago enjoys a continental rather than a maritime climate. While this brings the risk of frost, it also brings the reward of low rainfall and high sunshine hours. Though the location is on the edge of sustainable viticulture, these macroclimates consistently combine hot days, cool nights and long dry autumns, perhaps a perfect combination for the production of fine Pinot noir. And, since 2002, the vineyards have been managed organically and biodynamically. The results are noteworthy. Lovely translucent raspberry to cherry red in color with true blue Pinot noir aromas highly suggestive of ripe cherry, cranberry, rhubarb, dried orange peel, Oriental spice and forest floor; ultra-fine, silken-textured on the tongue with ripe and fine-grained tannins effortlessly carrying flavors that well answer the promise of the nose.

Ultra fresh and recognizably Kiwi Sauvignon with aromas of gooseberry, greengage plum, honeysuckle, gardenia and pink grapefruit. Bright, tingly fresh, nervy acidity gives way to an ample, medium-bodied, richly textured white wine with flavors suggestive of white stone fruit, lychee and pineapple with fresh zest of citrus on the finish. This is a white wine that both refreshes and satisfies.
