Dow's Trademark is made from grapes sourced from prime areas of the Upper Douro, including Dow's two principal vineyards, Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira. The grapes used in the production of Trademark are a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão. The finest lots are carefully selected, blended and subsequently left to age in oak casks for three to four years. Dow's Trademark is a delicious fruit-forward Porto with vibrant aromas of dried berries and plum, spice, dried herbs and a hint of something like cola. Rich spicy berry flavors on the tongue continue on toward a long and flavorful, if a bit drier, finish, consistent with Dow's house style. An excellent match with fine aged cheeses like Cheddar, Gouda or Stilton or for afters with chocolate.

This is a lovely, if youthful, 10 year tawny. Just sunset brickish orange-red at the edges; complex aromas suggestive of walnuts, almond, and crystallized red fruits; the texture is a very satisfying rich and silky with long, long flavors that conjure caramel, nut and crisp dried red fruits.
